Ginger Pear Crisp
|Ripe pears||4 Large, sliced|
|Finely chopped ginger||2 Tablespoon|
|All purpose flour/Unbleached flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Pillsbury)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Margarine/Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Heat oven to 375Â°F.
Grease 8 or 9-inch square baking dish.
Arrange pear slices in bottom of greased dish.
Sprinkle chopped ginger evenly over pears.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
In medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Using pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over pears.
Bake at 375Â°F for 20 to 30 minutes or until pears are tender and topping is golden brown.
Serve warm with whipped cream or cream, if desired.
