Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Gold medal flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cream icing 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Easy)
Directions

Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses, and water thoroughly.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Stir dry ingredients together and blend in.
Chill dough.
Heat oven to 400°
Drop dough by tea-spoonfuls about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sh
