American Ginger Cake

Ingredients
  Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Unsulphured molasses 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk/Plain yogurt 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Melted margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Flour 1 Tablespoon
  Grated orange peel 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream margarine with sugar, add egg, beat well.
Stir in molasses.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and ginger.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk or yogurt.
Pour into greased and floured 13x9 x 2 inch pan.
Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
