German Potato Salad

Ingredients
  Bacon slices 12 , diced and fried until crisp, reserve 6 tablespoons drippings
  Onions 3 Medium, chopped (2 Cups)
  Cider vinegar 14 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Potatoes 3 Pound, cooked, peeled and cut into 0.25 inch slices
Directions

Heat bacon drippings in a skillet.
Add onion and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in vinegar, sugar, salt, monosodium glutamate, and pepper; heat to boiling.
Mix in bacon.
Pour over potato slices in a serving dish and toss lightly to coat evenly.
Garnish with snipped parsley and paprika.
