Mother In Law's Sauerkraut

Ingredients
  Bacon slices 4 , diced
  Canned sauerkraut 27 Ounce (1 Can Of 1 Pound And 11 Ounce)
  Cabbage head 1 , chopped
  Onion 1 Large, diced
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

In small skillet, cook bacon, saving drippings.
In slow-cooking pot, combine sauerkraut, cabbage, onion, butter, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Pour cooked bacon and drippings over all.
Cover and cook on low for 3 to 5 hours.
Makes 8 servings.
