Aunt Lavina's Sauerkraut

Ingredients
  Smoked sausage 3 Pound, cut into 1 inch pieces
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Bell peppers 2 , chopped
  Onions 2 , sliced
  Mushrooms 1⁄2 Pound, sliced
  Sauerkraut 1 Quart, drained
  Diced tomatoes with green pepper 29 Ounce (Two 14 1/2 Ounce Cans)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
Directions

MAKING
1) In a slow cooker, arrange the sausage and heat on low.
2) In a pan, heat oil and saute pepper, onion, mushroom.
3) In a slow cooker, combine all the ingredients, cover, and cook on low for 5-6 hours or 3-4 hours on high.

SERVING
4) Serve with mashed potatoes.
