German Onion Tart
|Onions||3 Cup (48 tbs), thinly sliced|
|Butter/Bacon fat||3 Tablespoon|
|Dairy sour cream||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Caraway seeds||1 Tablespoon|
Saute onions in butter slowly until soft and golden.
Add all except last 3 ingredients to onions; turn into pie shell.
Sprinkle with caraway seeds and paprika.
Bake in preheated very hot oven (450°F.) for 10 minutes; reduce heat to moderate (350°F.) and bake for 30 minutes longer, or until a knife blade inserted in the tart comes out clean
