Bavarian Bratwurst Casserole
|Cubed red potatoes||2 Cup (32 tbs), 3/4-inch cubes|
|Finely chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Canned sauerkraut||16 Ounce, drained (1 Can)|
|Bratwurst||3⁄4 Pound, cut into 1-inch pieces (Uncooked)|
|Apple||1 Medium, cored and thinly sliced|
|Packed brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Dried parsley flakes||1 Tablespoon|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Caraway seed||1 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Beer||1 Cup (16 tbs), divided|
In 2-quart casserole, combine potatoes, onion and water.
Microwave at High for 5 to 7 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
Stir in sauerkraut, bratwurst, apple, brown sugar, parsley, lemon juice and caraway.
In small bowl, blend flour and 1/4 cup beer.
Stir in remaining 3/4 cup beer.
Pour into bratwurst and potato mixture.
Microwave at High for 9 to 12 minutes, or until bratwurst is firm and no longer pink, stirring 2 or 3 times.
