Bavarian Cabbage

Ingredients
  Bacon strip 4 , diced
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped apple 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Green cabbage 2 Pound, chopped or shredded
  Caraway seed To Taste
  Beef stock/Other stock 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Dry white wine 3 Tablespoon
  Cider vinegar/Wine vinegar 2 Tablespoon (to taste)
  Salt To Taste
  Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
Directions

In a very large frying pan over medium heat, brown bacon.
Add sugar and stir until melted.
Add onion and apple and simmer a few minutes.
Stir in cabbage and caraway seeds thoroughly; pour in stock.
Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Just before serving, stir in wine and vinegar to taste.
Add salt and pepper as desired.
