|Icing sugar||1 Pound|
|Ground almonds||4 Ounce|
|Sherry||3 Tablespoon (4 dessertspoons)|
|Orange juice/Lemon juice||1 Dash (one squeeze)|
|Almond essence||3 Drop (Few drops)|
Sift icing sugar and ground almonds, mix well.
Stir in egg-yolks beaten with sherry, fruit juice, and almond essence.
Mix into stiff paste, adding a little more fruit juice, if required.
Knead slightly on board.
Apple Shape from round of marzipan.
Push clove in each end, with pointed end out for stalk and clubbed end for blossom.
Orange Roll a round of marzipan on fine grater to get indented skin effect.
Push in clove for stalk.
Strawberry Roll small amount of marzipan to slight point at one end; paint with food colouring, then roll in red sugar.
Banana Shape from cylinder of marzipan.
Point ends and slightly curve banana.
Pear Shape from round of marzipan, bring one end to a point.
Press clove in pointed end for stalk.
Paint fruit with appropriate food colouring
