German Breakfast Sausage

|Ground pork||1⁄2 Pound|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Rolled oats||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Ground cloves||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground allspice||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Teaspoon|
Crumble beef and pork in Dutch oven; stir in water and onion.
Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Simmer uncovered, stirring frequently, 30 minutes.
Spoon mixture into ungreased loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3 inches.
Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 8 hours.
Unmold and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
Fry in ungreased skillet over medium-high heat until brown and crisp on both sides, about 10 minutes.
