Sauerkraut And Veggy Dogs
|Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Onion||1 Medium, sliced|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Sauerkraut||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Caraway seeds||1 Teaspoon|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Heat the oil and saute the onion until tender.
Stir in the salt and pepper and add this mixture to the sauerkraut in a large saucepan.
Add the uncooked sausages and the caraway seeds and stir gently.
Add the water, cover the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Alternatively, pre-heat the oven to 350°F and pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
Bake, covered, for 30 minutes, adding extra water if necessary towards the end of the cooking time.
