Simple Stollen Bread
|Lukewarm water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Active dry yeast||1⁄2 Ounce (2 Packages)|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), scalded and cooled to luke warm|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Soft butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Almond extract||2 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||7 Cup (112 tbs)|
|Chopped blanched almonds||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Measure water and 2 tsp.sugar into mixing bowl.
Stir to dissolve sugar.
Sprinkle yeast over water and let stand 10 minutes.
