Simple Stollen Bread

Ingredients
  Lukewarm water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Active dry yeast 1⁄2 Ounce (2 Packages)
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), scalded and cooled to luke warm
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Soft butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Almond extract 2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 7 Cup (112 tbs)
  Chopped blanched almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Measure water and 2 tsp.sugar into mixing bowl.
Stir to dissolve sugar.
Sprinkle yeast over water and let stand 10 minutes.
Stir well.
Add milk, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, eggs, butter and 2 tsp.almond extract and stir to blend.
