German Applesauce Cake

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Applesauce 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until light.
Add applesauce and soda alternately with dry ingredients.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Pour batter into a prepared 9x13 pan.
Mix sugar and cinnamon topping and sprinkle over batter.
Bake at 350 degrees, 25 minutes or until done.
