Sweet Sour Cabbage
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned condensed chicken broth||10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Wine vinegar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Pepper||1 1⁄2 Dash (Generous Dash)|
|Sliced tart apples||3 Cup (48 tbs) (2 Medium, Thinly Sliced)|
|Bay leaf||1 Medium|
|Shredded red cabbage||7 Cup (112 tbs) (From 1 Small Head, About 1 1/2 Pounds)|
In skillet, cook bacon; remove and crumble.
Cook onion in drippings until tender.
Stir in broth, vinegar, sugar, pepper; add apple and bay.
Bring to boil; add cabbage.
Cover; cook over medium heat 45 minutes or until tender.
Combine cornstarch and water; stir into cabbage.
Cook, stirring until slightly thickened.
Garnish with bacon.
