Mold dough to an oval shape 12 inches by 8 inches.
Brush with melted butter and spread chopped candied cherries over one half.
Fold the other half over the cherries and press down lightly.
Cover and let rise for about 45 minutes to 1 hour in a warm place.
Remove cover and brush the top with melted butter.
Bake in the center of a moderately hot oven (375°F) for 20-25 minutes.
Transfer to a cake rack, cool and dust with sifted confectioners' sugar.
