Simple German Chocolate Cake
|Semi sweet chocolate squares||3 , melted|
|Butter/Margarine||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened|
|Granulated sugar||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Cake flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs), sifted|
|Soda||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ice water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
Place chocolate in 1-cup measure.
MICROWAVE on HIGH, or until melted.
Set aside to cool.
Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixing bowl, beat until light and fluffy.
Blend in chocolate.
Mix in flour, soda and salt alternately with ice water, beating after each addition until mixture is smooth.
Pour half of the batter into 8-inch cake dish.
MICRO WAVE 6 MINUTES, 30 SECONDS to 7 MINUTES on HIGH, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let stand 5 minutes before turning out onto cake rack.
Repeat with second layer.
