German Potato Salad
|Potatoes||6 Medium, peeled and thinly sliced|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Green onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Celery seed||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
In 2 quart casserole, place potatoes and 1/4 cup water.
Cover with vented plastic wrap.
Microwave at HIGH (10) 10 to 15 minutes; stir after 5 minutes.
Let stand, covered, 5 minutes.
In 1 1/2 quart casserole, combine bacon drippings and onion.
Microwave at HIGH (10) 2 to 3 minutes until onion is transparent.
Stir in flour, sugar, salt, pepper, celery seed, water and vinegar.
Microwave at HIGH (10) 3 to 4 minutes; stir after 2 minutes.
Crumble bacon over potatoes.
Pour liquid over potatoes and bacon, mixing well.
