Gingered Beef Sticks

Ingredients
  Rump steak 1 Pound, trimmed of all visible fat and cut into thin strips (500 Gram)
For ginger marinade
  Spring onions 2 , finely chopped
  Finely grated fresh ginger 2 Teaspoon
  Crushed black peppercorns 1 Teaspoon
  Japanese soy sauce 2 Fluid Ounce (1/4 Cup, 60 Milliliter)
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Sake/Dry sherry 2 Tablespoon
Directions

1. To make marinade, place spring onions, ginger, black peppercorns, soy sauce, sugar and sake or sherry, if using, in a bowl and mix to combine. Add beef, toss to coat and marinate for 1-2 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
2. Preheat barbecue to a medium heat. Drain beef and thread onto lightly oiled skewers. Cook skewers on barbecue for 1-2 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking.
