Gingered Beef Sticks
|Rump steak||1 Pound, trimmed of all visible fat and cut into thin strips (500 Gram)|
|For ginger marinade|
|Spring onions||2 , finely chopped|
|Finely grated fresh ginger||2 Teaspoon|
|Crushed black peppercorns||1 Teaspoon|
|Japanese soy sauce||2 Fluid Ounce (1/4 Cup, 60 Milliliter)|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Sake/Dry sherry||2 Tablespoon|
1. To make marinade, place spring onions, ginger, black peppercorns, soy sauce, sugar and sake or sherry, if using, in a bowl and mix to combine. Add beef, toss to coat and marinate for 1-2 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
2. Preheat barbecue to a medium heat. Drain beef and thread onto lightly oiled skewers. Cook skewers on barbecue for 1-2 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking.
