Cocktail Idli Manchurian

Idli cooked in tasty Manchurian gravy.
Ingredients
  Idlis 30
  Green chillies 2 , finely chopped
  Onion 1 Small, finley chopped
  Garlic 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon, chopped
  Soy sauce 3 Teaspoon
  Vinegar 1 Teaspoon
  Tomato ketchup 3 Tablespoon
  Chopped cilantro/Chopped green onion 1 Teaspoon (For garnishing)
  Corn starch 1 Teaspoon, mixed
  Oil 2 Tablespoon
  Salt To Taste
Directions

1. Heat oil in a pan and add onions. Fry till golden brown.
2. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for few seconds.
3. Add soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup and salt. Mix well.
4. Add corn starch and bring it to a boil.
5. Now add the idlis and mix so as to coat it well with the sauce.
6. Serve hot garnished with cilantro or green onion.

I used to hear that one of the hotels in Mangalore prepared Idli Manchurian. I never tasted that but now I tried to prepare it in my own way.

This dish looks mouthwatering. I have tried fried idlies in indian restaurants and I love them. I have prepared idlies today morning and have about 10 idlies left, I will try this tonight and let you know how it tasted. Thanks.

Nice recipe! To make it more "authentic", one can dip the idli cubes in maida and corn starch mix and fry (Just like Manchurian)first and then make the sauce mentioned above. Then add idli cubes to it. This is the recipe from a very famous restaurant in Nilgiris. I prepare this very often as it is one of the favorites at home.
