Bananas Flambe With Brown Sugar
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Light corn syrup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon juice/Orange juice||3 Tablespoon|
|Grated lemon rind/Grated orange rind||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Bananas||4 , cut in half crosswise and lengthwise|
|Cointreau/Brandy / rum||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Melt butter or margarine in blazer pan of chafing dish over direct high flame.
Stir in next 4 ingredients.
Heat, stirring constantly.
Add bananas; spoon syrup over fruit; turn banana pieces carefully until glazed, about 5 minutes.
Place pan in water jacket to keep hot for serving.
If desired, before serving ladle warmed cointreau, brandy, or rum over fruit; ignite.
Serve when flame dies.
