|Apples||4 Large, peeled, cored and sliced 0.5 inch thick|
|Eggs||2 , separated|
|Ground cardamom||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Butter||2 Tablespoon, melted|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shortening||150 Milliliter (For Deep Frying)|
Beat egg whites stiff; set aside.
Beat egg yolks; add sugar, salt, and cardamom.
Add melted butter, milk, and flour.
Fold in stiffened egg whites.
Dip a slice of apple into batter; drop at once into hot deep fat.
Fry until lightly browned.
Drain apples, put them on serving platter and sprinkle with sugar.
Serve them warm.
