All Bran Fruit Bread

Ingredients
  Dates 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  White sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Melted shortening 2 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 350°F.

MAKING
2) Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over dates.
3) Stir in soda and cool.
4) Combine egg, sugar, shortening and vanilla.
5) Stir into cooled date mixture.
6) Bake in the oven to 350°F for about 45 minutes.

SERVING
7) Serve hot and crispy.
