Cherry-Filled Tasties

Yummy cherries in an all new form. Try this simple and easy cherry-filled tasties recipe and bring alive the dinner table tonight. Your family is sure to be all praise for your culinary skills.
Ingredients
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 2
  Vinegar 3 Tablespoon
  Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sour cherries 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cherry juice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Cornstarch 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Almond extract 1 Teaspoon
  Red food color 3 Drop
  Sifted flour 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Combine cherries, juice, 2 tablespoons butter, 11/3 cups sugar and cornstarch in saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
Cool.
Add almond extract and food coloring.
Sift flour, soda and salt together.
Cream 1/2 cup butter, remaining sugar and vanilla together.
Beat in egg; add flour mixture alternately with vinegar and milk.
Chill.
Roll dough thin.
Cut into 1 3/4-inch squares.
Place half the squares on cookie sheet.
Place 1 teaspoon cherry mixture in center of each.
Cut small design from center of each remaining square; place over cherry- topped squares.
Press edges together with fork.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
