Fresh Fruit Compote
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dry white wine||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|White creme de menthe||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Fresh orange juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Fresh lemon juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Peeled sliced peaches||4 Cup (64 tbs) (Fresh)|
|Sour cream||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
In a saucepan, combine water and sugar; bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pour into a large glass bowl.
Add wine, creme de menthe, orange juice, and lemon juice; blend well.
Stir in fruits.
Place in refrigerator to marinate 8 hours or overnight.
Divide fruits and marinade among 8 sherbet glasses.
Garnish with sour cream, nutmeg, and sprigs of mint.
