Coconut Orange Squares
|Soft butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Grated orange rind||1 Tablespoon|
|Flaked coconut||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Cream butter and sugar until light.
Beat in egg, orange rind, and milk.
Add coconut, and flour sifted with baking powder and salt.
Mix very quickly, and only enough to blend.
Put in pan (8 x 8 x 2 inches) lined with wax paper, then greased.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for about 25 minutes.
Cut into 16 squares.
