|Soaking liquid||1⁄2 Pint, cold (300 Milliliter)|

|Orange marmalade||2 Tablespoon (Chunky)|
|Self raising flour||1 Pound (500 Gram)|
|Ground cinnamon||2 Teaspoon|
Soak the fruit and sugar in the chosen liquid for several hours, preferably overnight.
Grease and base-line one 1 kg/2 lb loaf-tin.
Stir in the beaten egg, the marmalade, then the flour sifted with the cinnamon.
Transfer to the prepared tin, level the top and bake at 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4 for 90-100 minutes.
Cool for a few minutes in the tin before turning out on to a wire rack.
Serve sliced, with butter.
