Fruit Nut Caramels

Ingredients
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed
  White corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Evaporated milk 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Seedless raisins 15 Ounce (3 Cups, 1 Package)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Combine sugar and corn syrup and boil 5 minutes without stirring.
Add milk gradually so as not to stop boiling at any time.
Then add butter.
Boil to medium ball stage (240° F.) stirring constantly.
Remove from fire.
Add washed, drained raisins, salt, nuts, and vanilla.
Stir just enough to blend and turn into buttered pan.
Cool.
Makes2 1/2 lbs.
