Fruit And Nut Spice Cookies
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finley chopped|
|Fruits||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), candied|
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Blend in molasses, rum.
Water, flour, salt.
Soda and spices.
Add nuts and candied fruits.
Cover; chill 2 to 3 hours.
Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface.
Cut with 2 1/2 inch cutter; place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes; cool completely on wire racks.
