|Sifted flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ice water||6 Tablespoon|
Sprinkle sugar over berries, set aside.
Cut shortening into flour with salt added.
Add water 1 Tbsp.at a time.
Form dough into a ball.
Chill 2 hours.
Roll out pastry 1/8" thick.
Cut into 3" circles.
Moisten edge of half the circle and place a generous spoonful of sugared thimbleberries in center.
Fold in half, making edges meet.
Press edges together firmly and mark with tines of a fork.
Prick the top of turnovers.
Chill 2 hours, then bake 450°F.15 minutes.
