1. Prepare a medium fire in a grill, or use an existing fire.
2. If the fruit is plump and pliable, rinse with hot water. Drain and pat dry. If fruit is hard and dry, pour hot water over to cover and let steep 15 to 20 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
3. When coals are ashen, place fruit along edges of a lightly oiled grill rack and cook, turning once, 3 to 4 minutes, or until fruits are lightly browned.
