Cinnamon Apple Rings

Ingredients
  Cooking apples 3 Large
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Red cinnamon candies 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Peel and core apples; cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick rings.
Toss with lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Combine water, sugar and candies in large saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar and candies are dissolved.
Add apple rings and simmer until just tender, about 15 minutes.
Let cool in liquid.
Drain.
