Chocolate Covered Pear Layer
|Canned pear halves||10 , drained|
|9 inch basic yellow cake layer||1|
|Corn syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Hot water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chocolate chips||12 Ounce|
|Whipped topping||1 Can (10 oz) (Pressurized)|
Slice each pear half into 3 equal slices.
Arrange in circle around outer edge of cake layer.
Combine corn syrup, hot water, and butter in saucepan; heat to boiling.
Remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate chips until well blended.
Cool to warm.
Cover cake with warm glaze.
Let glaze set before decorating with whipped topping, as illustrated.
