Candied Fruit Wreath
Follow recipe for Mammoth Pecan Braid.
Omit Vanilla-Butter Filling and pecans.
Add 1 1/3 cups (8-ounce pkg.) diced assorted candied fruits, finely chopped, with the second addition of flour.
Proceed as directed through step 5.
When the dough is risen, roll out onto a lightly floured surface into a 19x15-inch rectangle.
Brush dough with 2 tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons red sugar.
Roll up from wider side and seal edge well; put on a baking sheet and form into a ring.
Snip at 1 1/2-inch intervals almost to center.
Alternately turn sections toward the center and toward the outside of the ring with cut sides up.
Brush each section with melted butter and sprinkle with red sugar.
Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.
Bake at 350°F 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove to wire rack and partially cool, then drizzle with Orange Snow Icing.
