The coconut frosting is a cooked and boiled frosting made with a base of milk sugar eggs and butter. Flavored with vanilla and added coconut and pecans the coconut frosting is rich and creamy and can be used for coconut cakes or nut cakes. In saucepan combine
Cream butter and brown sugar in mixing bowl. Add milk and vanilla stirring until smooth. Add filberts and coconut. Mix well.
Coconut Filbert Frosting

Combine first 5 ingredients in top of a double boiler bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Stir in coconut and walnuts beat until mixture reaches spreading consistency. Yield enough frosting for a 9 inch
Nutty Coconut Frosting
Combine the egg yolks brown sugar butter evaporated milk and vanilla in a heavy saucepan bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Stir in the coconut or pecans or both.
In saucepan combine all ingredients.Cook and stir until sugar and vegetable shortening are melted. Spread on partially cooled cake bake at 400 for 6 minutes or until lightly browned.
Magic Coconut Frosting
In a medium size bowl beat cream until soft peaks form. Fold in Pastry Cream and coconut.
Coconut Cream Frosting
Tint Coconut Shreds in juice. Frost cake or cupcakes with Boiled Honey Frosting and top with tinted shreds.
