Maple Sugar Frosting

This maple sugar frosting is a cooked frosting recipe made with egg whites. Cooked and made with syrup from the maple sugar, the maple sugar frosting can be used with baked desserts of choice like rolls and cakes or sweet buns.
Ingredients
  Maple sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Egg whites 2
  Boiling water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

MAKING
1.In a saucepan, boil maple sugar and water to the soft-ball stage (238° F.) to make a maple syrup out of it
2.Remove from the fire and cool while the egg-whites are beaten stiff
3.Then pour the syrup in a thin stream, over the stiff whites, beating the mixture until it is thick enough to spread.
4.A rough surface may be obtained by spreading the top of the cake with the back of a spoon before the frosting is set.
SERVING
5.Spread frosting over cakes
