This sour cherry frosting is specially prepared for the sour cherry cake. Made with cherry juice, vanilla and sugar along with butter and shortening, the sour cherry frosting can be used on other cakes or desserts too.
2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Mix above ingredients with enough cherry juice until a spreadable consistency is obtained.
To make cherry juice when using fresh sour cherries, cook a small amount of cherries in a little water and sugar to form a syrup.
