Ingredients
  White sugar 160 Gram
  Water 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Corn syrup 1 Tablespoon
  Egg whites 2
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Chopped candied pineapple 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Finely chopped candied cherries 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Rum extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Cook sugar, water and syrup to soft-ball stage (236°F.).
Beat egg whites and salt slowly until stiff, and pour sugar syrup over them, beating constantly.
Continue beating until mixture is of spreading consistency; then fold in fruits and rum extract.
Makes enough to fill and frost a 9-inch layer cake.
