|Confectioners sugar||3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)|
|Vegetable shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Corn syrup||2 Tablespoon|
|Grated orange peel||1 Tablespoon|
|Orange juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Combine 1 cup of the confectioners sugar, the vegetable shortening, corn syrup, peel, and salt.
Alternately add the orange juice and the remaining confectioners sugar; mix until smooth and creamy.
Add more sugar to thicken or juice to thin frosting if needed for good spreading consistency.
Frosts tops and sides of two 8 or 9 inch layers.
