|Honey||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (thick)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter||2 Cup (32 tbs) (for frying)|
Melt the honey and use 2 tblspns, to beat with the milk and cream, adding the mace and cinnamon.
Slice stale bread and remove the top hard crust and cut in half.
Soak in the cream mixture for 3 mins.
and drain slightly.
Drop into hot butter and fry until golden on both sides.
Add a little hot water to rest of honey to thin slightly and pour over the fritters.
