Fried Brandied Apple Fritters

Ingredients
  Apples 6
  Brandy 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , separated
  Granulated sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Confectioners sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Pare apples; cut into 1/2-inch slices and cut out cores with a sharp knife.
Pour brandy and cinnamon over apples in a bowl.
Cover bowl tightly and marinate for several hours.
To the beaten egg yolk add granulated sugar, milk, sifted dry ingredients, and the marinade; fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
Dip apple slices into batter; lift out with a fork, letting excess batter drain off.
Lower carefully into hot fat (370°F on a frying thermometer); fry until delicately brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Sprinkle with sifted confectioners' sugar.
