Cheese And Onion Fritters
|Grated cheese||4 Ounce|
|White sauce||1⁄4 Pint|
|Vegetable shortening/Dripping||1 Ounce|
|Tomato ketchup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Vegetable shortening/Dripping||2 Ounce|
Fry onion until soft in 1 oz. dripping.
Add to beaten eggs with flour, grated cheese, seasoning.
Beat until smooth.
Heat some of the shortening in frying pan.
Drop in 3 separate spoonfuls of mixture and cook until golden on underside, turn and cook on other side.
Drain and put on hot dish.
Continue cooking like this until all mixture is used.
Meanwhile make white sauce, add ketchup and heat without boiling.
Arrange on flat dish, serve sauce separately.
