Ingredients
  Vegetable shortening 1 Tablespoon, melted
  Egg 1
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sifted flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Pepper red 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Dry mustard 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Frankfurters 12
  Vegetable shortening 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)
Directions

Combine the melted vegetable shortening, the egg, and milk.
Combine dry ingredients; add to vegetable shortening mixture and mix until smooth.
Dip frankfurters in batter and fry until golden in deep vegetable shortening heated to 375° .
