Basic Fritter Batter

|Sifted all purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , well beaten|
Sift flour and salt together into medium bowl.
Add oil, egg, and about 1 cup cold water, enough to make thick batter.
If batter does not adhere to vegetables, add 1 or 2 tablespoons water to batter.
