|Chopped cooked ham||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vegetable shortening||1 Tablespoon, melted|
|Vegetable shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
In bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Combine egg and milk; add to dry ingredients.
Stir in ham and melted vegetable shortening.
Drop from tablespoon, a few at a time, into deep vegetable shortening heated to 375° .
Fry until golden and cooked through, 3 to 5 minutes.
Drain on paper toweling.
