|Whole kernel corn||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Vegetable shortening||1 Tablespoon, melted|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Vegetable shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
In bowl, combine egg and milk.
Stir in corn and melted vegetable shortening.
Combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder; add to egg mixture; stir just to evenly distribute ingredients.
Drop from tablespoon, a few at a time, into deep vegetable shortening heated to 375° .
Fry until golden and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes.
Drain on paper toweling.
