Classic French Fried Onion Rings

Ingredients
  Flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Melted shortening 1 Teaspoon
  Bermuda onions 4 (adjust quantity as needed)
  Hot fat 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (for deep frying)
Directions

Sift dry ingredients together.
Stir eggs, milk and shortening into flour mixture and beat until smooth.

Peel onions and slice thin.
Separate into rings, dip into batter and drop into deep hot fat.
Do not crowd.
Fry about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
