This recipe certainly adds a new twist to French green beans. I found the slicing of the water chestnuts wasn't easy - then as for silvering them... The lemon and soya sauce flavours get absorbed into the water chesnuts, which is great. I made the amount of 'sauce' recommended with only 500g of beans which probably changed the balance - but I enjoy water chesnuts - until it comes to silvering them.
