In a saucepan, toss 1 pound peaches, peeled and sliced, with the juice of 1/2 lemon to prevent discoloration.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar combined with 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
Bring to a boil, stirring.
Set aside or cool and refrigerate.
