French Onion Soup With Parmesan Cheese
|Onions||5 Small, thinly sliced crosswise|
|Canned beef consomme||31 1⁄2 Ounce (3 Cans Of 10.5 Ounce Each)|
|Water||21 Ounce (2 Cans Of 10.5 Ounce Each)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|French bread slices||8 , cut 0.25 inch thick|
|Grated parmesan cheese||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Separate onions into rings and cook in melted butter or margarine until glossy.
Add consomme, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil.
Cover tightly and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
Spread butter or margarine on one side of each slice of bread.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Place slices under broiler until slightly browned.
Serve a bread slice atop each serving of onion soup.
